How To Create A YouTube Channel

YouTube Channel Overview
YouTube (formerly YouTube Spotlight) is the official YouTube channel for the American video-sharing platform YouTube, spotlighting videos and events on the platform. Events shown on the channel include YouTube Comedy Week and the YouTube Music Awards.

A personal YouTube channel is available to everyone who joins YouTube as a member. The channel serves as the home page for the user's account, and you can have more than one YouTube channel.

After the user enters and approves the information, the channel shows the account name, a personal description, the public videos the member uploads, and any user information the member enters.

If you're a YouTube member, you can customize the background and color scheme of your personal channel and control some of the information that appears on it.

Businesses can also have channels. These channels are different from personal channels because they can have more than one owner or manager. A YouTube member can open a new business channel using a Brand Account.

With a Google Account, you can watch and like videos and subscribe to channels. However, without a YouTube channel, you have no public presence on YouTube. Even if you have a Google Account, you need to create a YouTube channel to upload videos, comment, or make playlists. You can use a computer or the YouTube mobile site to create a new channel.

Setting up your own YouTube channel gives you the power to reach your target audience on a whole new medium. Not only does it give you access to a huge and increasing number of users, but YouTube can help you:

- Reach new customers:
Your videos will show up in search results on the platform, putting your content in front of users who might not have known you existed.

- Drive traffic to your website:
After viewing one of your awesome videos, a viewer who wants to learn more can click on a link in your video description to check out your website.

- Amp up your SEO:
Many companies are using video SEO to enhance their searchability and increase web traffic. This powerful strategy is simple to implement and can be wildly effective.
Another great reason to start a YouTube channel is to make the most out of the video content you’re already creating. If you’re spending time and money creating videos for your website, sales presentations, advertisements and more, why not put them on YouTube as well? They could start delivering the benefits we mentioned above in a matter of days.
Are you ready to realize the benefits of using YouTube as a marketing platform and content channel? If the answer is yes, here’s how to create a YouTube channel in three easy steps – plus a little bonus at the end.

Requirements :

A Google Account.

Step 1: Set up your channel
- To get started, log into (Sing in) Google Account, go to youtube.com and click on your avatar in the upper-right corner of the screen. Select “Settings” in the dropdown menu.

- Then click “Create a channel” or "Add or manage your channel(s)" under the “Your YouTube channel” heading.

- Click "Use a business or other name" or "Create a new channel".

- Next, YouTube will prompt you to name your channel. Type "Brand account name" you desired and click Create.

- After clicking “Create”, YouTube will create your channel and drop you into your channel dashboard. Voila! In just 5 clicks of the mouse, you’ve created your new YouTube channel and are on your way to sharing killer content with YouTube’s 1.9 billion users.

Step 2: Customize your channel
To customize the channel choose CUSTOMIZE CHANNEL button.
As you’ll see, your YouTube channel comes completely blank, so the next thing you’ll want to do is spruce it up a bit. Get this process started by selecting the “Customize Channel” button on your dashboard. Then head over to the “Basic info” tab to fill in some basic information about your business, including a description and customized links.

For example :
Description
Welcome to our Channel. If you like the lessons, general knowledge and music, subscribe to our channel. Visit our channel daily and enjoy them!!!

When writing your description, be informative but also strategic; YouTube scans this content to optimize users’ search experiences, so infuse it with keywords as much as possible. You can also take advantage of the Customized Links feature to add marketing links to your channel profile. The links you enter here will display as icon overlays on your channel cover photo; we’ll see this in action later in this section.
Finally, while you’re on this tab, you can add an email address for users to send inquiries. This is an often overlooked but important step for organizations looking to increase inbound leads – and who isn’t? If everything is OK, click Publish button.

- As a next step, spice up your channel with some visuals, specifically your channel Banner image and your Profile picture (avatar). To do this head over to the “Brading” tab. If you’re not a professional designer, don’t worry. There are plenty of free tools you can use to create your channel art in just minutes. We recommend Canva and Bannersnack. They’re both easy-to-use free tools that allow you to design your cover art and export it according to YouTube’s art dimension requirements.
As you’re creating your channel Banner image, be sure your image matches your brand and is consistent with the visuals you’re using on your website and other social media accounts. Use fonts, colours, and graphics that match your brand identity.
Once you’ve created your beautiful channel Banner image, upload it by clicking “UPLOAD” at the right-side. Then locate the file you’d like to upload and click Publish button.
Here’s the quick version for the image dimensions for YouTube banner size :
- Ideal Dimensions: 2560 x 1440 pixels
- Minumum: 2048 x 1152 pixels
- Safe Zone: 1540 x 427 pixels, centered
- Maximum: 6MB filesize

- As a final step, check out your banner image on viewable all devices. YouTube automatically shows you what it will look like on desktop and mobile, so give it a thorough review to be sure important content isn’t cut off. Keep these dimensions in mind as you’re designing your cover art, too. YouTube’s desktop and mobile layouts are long and narrow, so layout your graphic accordingly. Click “DONE”.

- After your banner image is uploaded and live, the next visual you’ll want to add is your profile photo. To get started, click UPLOAD in the right-side of the Profile picture.

- This will prompt you to upload a photo to feature as your profile image. We recommend using a version of your logo that fits nicely in a square container. You could experiment with using other images here, but if you want to increase brand recognition, it’s best to stick with your logo.

Once you’ve selected the right image, YouTube will give you the option to crop it, so don’t worry about perfectly sizing your logo. You can handle all of that within the platform.

After you’ve cropped your image appropriately, click “Done” and take a look at your new YouTube channel, complete with an SEO-friendly description and beautiful channel art that matches your brand.

- Now you’ll see those appear as linked icons right on top of your cover art. It’s a simple way to ensure your audience can easily get to your website, blog, or other landing page directly from your YouTube channel.

Step 3: Add videos and optimize your channel
Now that your channel is all set up, it’s time to start uploading content. To upload your first video, click on the “MANAGE VEDIO” link under banner image. This will take you into YouTube’s Video Manager tool.

- Once you’re in the Video Manager, select the “UPLOAD VIDEO” or click “CREATE” and select “Upload Videos” button and click “SELECT FILES” to get started, then find the video file you’d like to upload.

- As your video uploads, you can start entering in your video’s data, including the title, description, and tags. Your title should describe what’s in the video while being eye-catching and intriguing, and your description should be filled with SEO-friendly keywords. Just like with your channel description, YouTube will reference this text to serve up relevant content to users when they search – and you want to be in those results. From this page, you can also add tags to help boost your video’s SEO ranking.
Click Detail button, fill Title, Description, and select the thumbnail you’d like to appear in search results; pick the most engaging, accurate, and eye-catching thumbnail in your video. This is the single image that represents your video, and should be chosen thoughtfully.

- Then select Playlist. Click down arrow button, select correct playlist, (if you do not have already) click “NEW PLAYLIST”, give your playlist a name, tick the correct name, choose “No, it’s not made for kids” and click “Next”.

- If you want, you can do this stage. If not, click “Next”.

- Choose Visibility and click “PUBLISH”.

- If you don’t want to share the link, click “CLOSE”.

Now you publish your video into the world!!

Step 4 : some settings
- You need to set up some setting in the channel. Go to your channel, click on your channel profile and choose Youtube Studio.

- Click Setting.

- In the channel setting at Basic info choose your country of residence. At Keywords type your channel name. It is very important for Youtube search box. YouTube channel keywords are terms that give YouTube information and context about your channel. Specifically, they help YouTube understand the type of content you produce and who your target audience is. Optimized Channel keywords can also increase the visibility of your channel on YouTube.
At Advanced settings tick “No, set this channel as not made for kids…” and click “SAVE”.

- In Upload default at Basic info fill a description which you want to describe for your channel. It will be displayed under video screen and tag about your channel product at Tag section. YouTube tags (also known as “video tags”) are words and phrases used to give YouTube context about a video. Tags are considered an important ranking factor in YouTube's search algorithm. At Advanced settings choose License, Category, Video Language, Caption certification, Comment and click “SAVE”.
